Dear Friends,

Greetings from my family and all the staff in Ghana. I am happy to report that last week was the best Lydia has had in the last seven months. She was even able to drive to church yesterday. We thank God for her increasing strength; we thank all of you also for your faithful prayer support. Please continue to pray for her to recover fully.

In this update, I would like to focus on John Newman, the GCM evangelist at Nkwanta serving among the Adele people group. Those of you, who have seen our current GCM video, may recall John as the one who abandoned his fetish family name “Kpebu” and now bears the new family name Newman.

John was born on September 26, 1958 at Tutukpene near Nkwanta. He is a convert of Francis Nyarko, who encouraged him to attend Ghana Christian University College from 1998-2001. Since his graduation, he and his wife Christiana and their four children (Sabina-20, Enima-16, Priscella-13 and Jemaima-9) have been serving at Nkwanta from where he travels to six other villages to shepherd the flock and mentor other shepherds for the growing churches. John has converted and baptized 220 souls to Christ.

There are two special needs regarding John’s work. The first is the medical needs of his third child, Priscella who had acute hydrocephalus surgery to put a shunt on September 19. Doctors think this condition was triggered by an auto accident she had seven years ago. Please pray for her full recovery as the condition had affected her vision and ability to walk. Please also prayerfully consider giving to her medical costs which are $1500 for the surgery and hospital fees. Any donations to treat Priscella could be sent to Ghana Christian Mission, 800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield, IN 46168. Please designate it to Priscella’s, treatment.

A second need for John Newman is the motor cycle he needs to travel to visit the churches. His current bike was bought in 1992 and is almost beyond repair after travelling the rugged unpaved village roads for 17 years. We need $1200 to purchase a new Royal Motors 150 cc cycle for John. If you could help us to this end, please send designated gifts to the address earlier provided.

Other News:

We thank God for the safe return of Hayford Ahiabu to Obanda. Even though the only bridge that leads to his village is broken down and is awaiting repair, he walked the remaining 2 miles by foot to reconnect with Joyce, the children and the entire church. He asked me to extend his appreciation to all of you who hosted him and gave him the opportunity to share from his rich missionary experience and tender heart for God and people

Sincerely,
Enoch and Lydia Nyador
