Dear Friends,

The Lord continues to bless His work in this part of the World. Last
August marked the end of the direct involvement by Christ in Youth (CIY)
in America, in the conferences and the International School of Youth
Ministry (ISYM) in Ghana. For the Youth Conference, over 450 Ghanaian
Youth participated in the five day program, while over 45 pastors and
youth leaders participated in the International School of Youth Ministry.

These programs were preceded by a three day annual retreat, organized for Pastors
and church leaders in the fellowship of Christian churches in Ghana. Over 70
pastors and church leaders were present.

A 27 member medical team from FAME USA, under the leadership of Lonnie Burley,
director of short term trips and Dr Dwain Illman Medical Director, was in the
country from August 30-September 10, 2007, on a working visit. Over 870 patients
were treated free of charge, at Keri, Ashiabre, Brewaniase and Nkwanta, in the
Nkwanta South District of the Volta Region.

Diseases such as malaria, high blood pressure, diabetes, worm infestation, skin
infections, aches and pains in different parts of the body, to mention but a few,
were among the cases treated. More than 120 reading glasses were also given out,
while the Gospel was shared with all the 870 people who went through the clinic,
with over 25 decisions made for Christ.

Even though the bad nature of the roads in the Nkwanta area, the rains and other
harsh conditions tried to impede the outreach, the resolute, tough and faithful
team would not give in but served faithfully till the end of the week long
program. All Glory belongs to Jesus who strengthened His laborers and made the
work a successful one.

Christy Brown, from the University Christian Church in Boise, Idaho,  has been
serving as an intern here in the FAME Ghana office since September 2, 2007. She
has currently been assisting the teachers at Bethel Christian School. She has been
assisting and working with them to teach the children the basics that they will
need to further their education. Some of the basics include how to read, write and
also the beginning mathematics. She has also assisted Lydia and I at an eye
screening outreach in Dabala on the 7th of this month. She saw many patients with
us and got a better understanding of the need for Christian Missionaries here in
Ghana, Africa. She will be assisting the Global Health Outreach team that is
coming from the US during the 24th-30th  September.
Please keep the following also in your prayers:

  ·        David Ketchum and Mission Resource International. He, his son Andrew and
friends Bryce and John have returned to the U.S.A after visiting current projects
and prospecting for new ones in Ghana. Our sons Makafui and Jacob joined Andrew to
distribute donated books Andrew had brought from the U.S.A to children of our
church planters in the villages.

  ·        Emily Piper who is now staying with her grandmother and having
chemotherapy in Florida.

  ·        Jean Cain, RN, who continues to serve at the Akplale Clinic.

  ·        We enjoyed sweet fellowship with Wynema Gatewood, from Christ’s Church in
Jacksonville,  FL about a week and a half before she joined the medical outreach
to Nkwanta. Raphael, Lydia and I have all stayed with her one time or the other in
St.   Augustine, FL. We love her very much.

  ·        For nurses and church planters serving in remote villages--- that they
remain focused and encouraged and that God rewards us with lots of souls won for
eternity!

  ·        That our financial needs for salaries, vehicles, buildings and other
projects would be supplied according to HIS RICHES IN GLORY!

  ·        I THANK GOD AND I THANK YOU ALSO FOR LISTENING , PRAYING, GIVING,
VISITING, AND ….
