Pawa Christmas Convention, Vision for 2019 in Akyode Area

Sampson Darko is the GCM evangelist of 5 churches among the Akyode people group in the Nkwanta district in the northern Volta Region. Farming and petty trading is the major occupation of the 12,000+ people there, about 70% of whom are idol worshippers.

The following is Sampson's report from the mission field in December. Please join us in thanking God and asking for his continued work:

Praises be to God for His goodness and faithfulness throughout the year, and how far He has brought us. I thank God for His saving power of the souls He brought into His Kingdom. Glory be to Jesus Christ for His protection, provision, and sustenance of our sponsors abroad, Director, and the team in Ghana. I thank God for your life, my family, and the Church members as well. Despite the numerous challenges, be it financial, health, church growth, or many others, God has seen us through 2018.

The vision for 2019: Plant church at Abrowanko. Raise pavilion for our school from kindergarten to primary level 6. If possible, grade 7 to grade 9. Also train more leaders and embark more on evangelism and outdoor preaching campaigns. Please, my requests for 2019 are: One of my children should receive a full scholarship in order to have a better education. I would like to plead with you to assist us to have infrastructure for the school we have started. Please, other churches had acquired land to establish schools at Keri. We have begun and the first batch are in grade 7 in a different school simply because we are not able to provide a structure for the Junior High School. Please, these are pressing issues at hand, and something must be done to save the situation. May the good Lord watch over and keep you throughout the year 2019. Amen! Stay blessed.

The 2018 Christmas convention was held at Pawa in the Akyode Area. 374 people came. Both men and the women and the children gave the above number. Theme for the convention was “Beware of False Prophets!” Group classes were held to study the details of the topic. We were able to raise 4,005 Ghana cedis [$802]. These are the pictures of the convention:
