HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS!

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14 - 16 NKJV

At Ghana Christian Mission (GCM), demonstrating the love of Christ is at the heart of our mission. We strive to seize every opportunity to show people, in practical ways, what it means to be loved by the King of Kings. In this edition of sharing what God is doing in Ghana through GCM’s dedicated staff, we are excited to highlight how our partnership with McDonough Christian Church (MCC) has been a remarkable expression of Christ’s love.

About a year ago, this idea was conceived, and just two weeks ago, it became a reality. Through a medical outreach, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and church construction work, God’s love was shared in tangible ways. In just two days, over 200 children were taught Bible stories, engaged in interactive games, and participated in craft activities during VBS. Additionally, through the medical outreach, more than 800 people received quality, free medical care. Wounds were dressed, reading glasses were distributed, and essential items like toothbrushes and toothpaste were provided. Various illnesses, including malaria, typhoid, hypertension, and high blood sugar, were diagnosed and treated. Transformation Christian Church was not left out, as men from MCC worked alongside the Ghanaian team to work on the flooring of the church, an effort that has brought lasting impact.

The greatest joy from these activities came from the smiles and hope on the faces of hundreds who participated. In addition to the physical and emotional healing provided, 17 individuals gave their lives to Christ, and more than 30 others rededicated themselves to Him. Many of those we encountered had lost hope in finding healing from their diseases, but we believe God made it possible for us to be a source of hope for the hopeless.

We are deeply thankful to McDonough Christian Church, the team members, The Jesus Shed, Loving Hands, and numerous individuals whose prayers, financial support, and donations of VBS materials made this mission possible. The people of Papaase, GCM, and Transformation Christian Church extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.

You too can make a difference. You too can be the hope for the hopeless. Please contact us to learn how God can use you to transform lives at the ends of the earth.

SEPTEMBER 2024 MONTHLY REPORTS

Pastor Paul Akuteye

The month of August holds a significant biblical meaning as a time of harvest and abundance, reflecting God’s faithfulness and provision in our lives.

The Pistis family in Kumasi, the presiding elder by the name elder Akwasi Mensah who is a staunch member of the church since its establishment in 2002, and has been worshipping with the church in Kumasi till now, had his left thumb chopped off while working in a sawmill to get some wood for his shop. He is a professional carpenter, married with five children –three boys and two beautiful ladies. The entire family plays a crucial role in our places of worship.

·      The first-born boy by name Emmanuel Mensah is currently the shepherd in charge of our third assembly in Domeabra in Kumasi.

·      The second son bought our beautiful pulpit and the drums for the Oduom Assembly in Kumasi.

·      The third son is in charge of the protocol department in the Oduom Assembly.

·      Both girls are in the choir in the Oduom Assembly.

·      Their mother is the one in-charge of the ushering department. The Mensah family in the Pistis Church in Kumasi are doing very well for the church in Kumasi.

Unfortunately, last week after the father lost the left thumb in the sawmill, his carpentry shop burned to ashes at about 2am on August 6th.

It took the Fire Service about one hour to come and by then, everything had been burned to ashes. It is going to be a new beginning for the family.

It is my prayer that the good Lord will make enough provision to our presiding elder and his family, and also to keep our presiding elder not to go back to the world because of the loss of his means of income.

He was an idol worshipper from Togo who gave his life to the Lord in Kumasi.

He was the first person, who welcomed us in Kumasi on the 1st of January, 2002.

I want to appeal to the Mission Resource Ghana, Ghana Christian Mission (GCM) and all benevolent persons to come to our aid to put up another structure for Elder Akwasi to start his vocation again in Kumasi by the end of this month of August, 2024.

May God richly bless you for your partnership and support for us all as a church.

Pastor Yonah Lati

Calvary greetings from our Lord Jesus Christ.

The following activities were observed and successful in the Borae district:

BAPTISMS

In the month of August, the district hosted a district youth convention at Chenderi, during which eight souls received Christ and were immersed in water to the glory of God.

In the Borae Central Church, one soul named Gyintey, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized through immersion.

REVIVALS

The youth convention scheduled at the beginning of the year took place on August 15th -18th at Chenderi with the theme "Transforming lives together".

By the grace of God, the program was successful and has brought a great spiritual awakening in the life of the youth and the church at Chenderi.

·      Pray for growth for the churches in the Borae district and also for the leadership of the district.

Pastor Nicholas Sekyere

We thank God Almighty for another beautiful and successful month. The whole family has been strong.

We had prayers and evangelism at Ahiatroga and Danielkorpe from Tuesday, 13th to Sunday 18th August 2024.

In the month of August all the weekly activities took place as scheduled except Fridays because this is a day of harvest for everyone in the community.

Prayer Request:

·      For souls won that they will stay rooted in the Lord

·      Pray for support to complete the church buildings.

Thank you for all the support and prayers. May the name of God Almighty be praised.

Pastor Ernest Nyador

Another successful month in the year, 2024 was August.

Normal church activities – evangelism, home visitation, visiting the sick, encouraging backsliders to win them back – are being intensified.

Some of our women attended the southern women's convention at Paradise Christian Church, Gbetsile in Tema.

Church construction activities are halted due to financial constraints. We are hoping to continue as soon as funds are secured.

Prayer requests

·      Pray for the sick to get healing, backsliders to come back, stability and success of the handiworks of members.

·      We also request prayers for financial breakthrough for businesses.

·      We ask for God's favor and blessings for GCM, for their continuous passion and support for the church.

Pastor Elisha Malu Mboranan

Greetings and appreciation to the leadership of GCM for their support and goodwill.

We thank you, friends and supporters of GCM, for your prayer support and the foundation you have laid for everyone.

We received Pastor Obed on 11th August, 2024 to do his internship with Banda Pistis Christian Church.

We had our regular activities of visitations and cell meetings with the audio bibles which we started using. These audio bibles have helped make our meeting easy and effective in communicating with the Word of God.

Prayer Request

·      We humbly need your prayer for the Holy Spirit to strengthen us and make our work fruitful to fulfill the purpose of God.

·      Kindly pray for the leadership of the church to continue to work hard for the Lord.

·      Pray for Pastor Obed that he will fulfill God’s purpose for which he brought him to Banda for internship.

Pastor Sampson Darko

We bless the name of the Lord for His Kindness.

God has granted us the grace to hold our Youth Camp successfully with the theme:

“Rooted in Faith, Strengthen Your Foundation”

The programme brought together two hundred and twenty (220) youth and fifty (50) Sunday school children.

We need prayers for my family and the Church.

Pastor Daniel Tetteh

Greetings to you all in the Lord.

The mission house project has successfully begun. Workers are on site; the foundation has been dug and they have started laying the footing. I am grateful for this because I am going to have a convenient place to stay which is going to be of great help to the mission and the Sisaala Paasaal people group.

I have successfully taken 30 children through The Greatest Journey lessons and 25 graduated; another 20 also continues with their lessons.

I have made considerable progress in learning the Sisaala Paasaal language, I am now able to hold basic conversations and understand more about the culture. This progress is easier because of the opportunity given to me to have language and culture studies. Thank God for this opportunity.

I have a schedule visit to friends to help me enhance the language, continue the The Greatest Journey lessons with the 20 children, assist the workers on site and also do some few home visitations.

I implore you that you help me pray for the grace of our Lord to be with me for a great harvest in the land of the Sisaala Paasaal.

Pastor Kingsley Nyindam

To God Almighty be all the glory for seeing us through the eighth month of the year.

We wish to also praise God for seeing our daughter Jane through her junior high education and Gloria our first daughter who is currently writing her final exams.

Continue to pray for them for good results.

No baptism was recorded this month.

The projector that was received is making a lot of impact. Our evening services now see great numbers whenever we show an educative Christian film.

The month of August was dedicated to youth activities and rounded up during the first of September that saw the baptism of six young ladies.

The church building project has been halted due to lack of funds. Its early completion will greatly enhance our church meetings and also draw more people to the church. We greatly need prayers and financial support.

Continue to pray for the growth of the church.

Pastor Bismark Kassata

I give God all glory for His protection over our lives in the Ntrubo area churches and beyond.

We thank God for His mercies that watched over my household and also for the successful youth convention at Kpassa in the Nkwanta North District.

As usual, the Ntrubo area churches are doing well under the protection of God as far as our youth, prayer, other meetings are concern.

Two of my children were hospitalized in Nkwanta and Brewaniase.

One of my deaconesses lost her husband.

Pray for more grace upon my family to be able to stand in the midst of all challenges.

Pray that His will come to pass in all we do for His name to be glorified.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to work in the vineyard of the almighty God.

We have committed our lives to serve Him till the second coming of His son.

Pastor Yeboah Ernest Junior

Our Lord Jesus Christ was faithful and good to us during the month of August. From the depth of our hearts, we give Him all the glory and praises.

All church activities and evangelism are still ongoing. The Spirit of God and our Lord Jesus Christ always refresh us with the words of God and strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ our Savior.

May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to make us the light and salt of the earth to win souls and disciple them to follow the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Francis Addae

Indeed, our Lord is good and always keeps His promises to us. Myself and the family are doing fine by His grace. Things went well when we traveled to attend to the GHO team at Ada-junction in Greater Accra Region. I am also grateful for the good work He is doing both in my family and the ministry.

Not quite long ago, we started a church and Pastor Isaiah from Nikata, through his visitation won a soul and baptized her to the glory of God. Our prayer request is for God to strengthen us to work hard to win more souls.

In order to do well and precede to our vision, we humbly ask GCM Management to also pray for the ministry and its challenges.

Pastor Paul Lawson

We give glory to our Lord Jesus and thank Him for His protection.

The stability of marriages in the church is a great concern in the ministry.

Last month I reported on 1 case that was resolved.

This month again we've resolved another case. And the joy is back again in that house.

Another great testimony I want to share concerns a member who because of the children's pressure (Muslims) decided to stay away from the church for almost a year. She's back. The children, have finally accepted her decision to be a Christian. When she was out, a team of women from the church were constantly sharing the Word of God and encouraging her when they met in the market, farm or other places.

Samson, a young evangelist among us has been sent to Dunamis Bible Institute (DBI) in Tamale.

We are hoping that September will bring to us another set of blessings and grace.

Pastor David Addy Akpesey

Thank and praise God for making it possible for the Transformation Christian Church to send some of the Women Fellowship members to represent the church at the Women Fellowship Convention at Paradise Christian Church from August 28 to September 1, 2024.

The church raised funds to hire a vehicle to convey the members to and from the convention.

Pray for our Evangelism Team to win more souls for the Lord and the new church at Kwaobondze.

Pastor Daniel Liwamor

I thank God the month of August has also ended peacefully. My family and I are in good health by the grace of God. Additional thanks to God for the life of all our church members throughout the month of August.

We were able to raise our mission fund in the month of August. Due to the hardship that the people of the north are facing we were unable to raise the mission fund in the month of June and July, but thanks be to God for making it last month, we have an amount of Gh400.00

Pastor John Newman Peni

An Evangelism team from Nkwanta went to a village called Ahondwo and witnessed to them about Christ. By God's grace four people gave their lives to Christ and were baptized. A teacher and his wife who are from Nkwanta Assembly are living in the village so they have started meeting every Sunday with the converts and other people who are already baptized. So, a church has been started at Ahondwo.

Prayer Request

·      Pray for the converts to remain steadfast in their faith and that more souls will be won as we continue evangelism and follow- up.

AUGUST 2024 CHAPLAINS REPORTS

FAME Clinic, Benwoko – Pastor Yeboah Ernest Junior

We give God all the thanks and praises for helping us, during the month of August, to perform our duties for the well-being of our patients in Jesus Christ our Lord.

I shared the word of God with the staff, encouraged them and prayed with them whiles also visiting the general ward to share the word of God and pray for admitted patients. Our Lord Jesus Christ continues to perform healing by using the nurses to carry out clinical procedures, which bring good health to our patients in Benwoko and beyond.

We thank God, for Ghana Christian Mission (GCM). God bless you for the continuous supply of medicines. The fame of Jesus Christ continues to spread through Benwoko and various communities in Tempane District.

May God see us through the rest of the year with greater works in Jesus Christ.

FAME Clinic, Makango – Pastor Francis Addae

We are blessed by how God cares for all the staff to attend to clients who come to seek health care.

Our staff adopted a strategy of holding community clinical sessions which increased our Internally Generated Fund (IGF). Sometimes our midwives also do visit those who come for antenatal services. With these good works I pray for more strength to maintain the image of the facility.

May God continue to watch over us and provide for our needs in the month of September.

We give Him all the praise and all the glory.

FAME Clinic, Akplale - Pastor Ernest Nyador

We are very grateful to God for His unlimited blessings for the facility and staff.

The month of August was very successful but with some constraints.

Normal clinical activities are still ongoing.

Even though some of the staff are on annual, maternity, study or sick leave, the few available are working with much zeal.

Some of the constraints during the month were low OPD and delivery cases. The economic hardship in the country is affecting every sector.

We are very appreciative to the GCM board for the timely supply of drugs and other logistics.

Hoping for many breakthroughs and success as we proceed.

FAME Clinic, Loagri - Pastor Paul Lawson

We give thanks to the Almighty God for leading us throughout the month of August. Our success is a manifestation of His goodness upon the ministry. I want to share this short testimony here:

On her way to a city called Wa, a pregnant woman was forced to stop in our community, feeling the pains of her pregnancy. After 2 hours of labor, she delivered a baby boy. A life has been saved through the presence of the clinic in the community. She enjoyed our presence when we visited her with food and the word of God.

She was extremely grateful and praised the Lord.

We thank the management also for bringing change at the leadership level in the Loagri clinic.

We are hoping for more productivity in terms of saving lives and spirituality.

FAME Clinic, Kumdi – Pastor Felix Nsejamese

We are so grateful to God for His grace upon FAME Clinic, Kumdi.

Upon all the storm and wind, our Lord is in the business of healing the body through medicine and the soul through His word, which is the vision of GCM.

We give thanks to our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ for saving those who come to the clinic through medicine. As always, I witness to all who visit the clinic about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Madam Kumah experienced the saving power of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ in the clinic. Pray for her total healing in body and soul.

FAME Clinic, Tatindo - Kingsley Nyindam

God Almighty be praised forever for seeing us through the eighth month of the year.

The Lord is still in the business of healing His children through the use of medicine and prayer.

The few nurses who are available are trying their best to administer healthcare to our clients and we support both the clients and the nurses spiritually with prayer and the Word of God, as we constantly have morning devotions with them.

Prayer needs:

  • More nurses are needed.

  • Means of transportation for referral cases.

  • Dedication and faithfulness on the part of some of the nurses.

  • Pray for the halted extension project. Its completion is going to help a lot.
